Academic BiographyDr. Whiting is an active researcher, with interests in couple conflict, abuse/violence, and relationship education. He has published books and over 70 articles and chapters on couple conflict, therapy, intimacy, mindfulness, and research methods, and has won awards for his research and publications. Dr. Whiting has been a director on federally-funded research projects related to relationship education and domestic violence.

Training and Credentials
Jason Whiting has been practicing Marriage and Family Therapy since 1995. After studying Psychology and Music as an undergraduate, he received a master’s degree from Brigham Young University and doctorate from Michigan State University in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then he has worked as a teacher and researcher, while maintaining an active clinical practice.
As a professor and researcher, Dr. Whiting stays current with what works in therapy. He has given national and international presentations on a variety of therapy-related topics.

Personal
In addition to studying the lives of couples, Dr. Whiting enjoys teaching about relationships, supervising interns, and working with couples in a clinical practice. And, as a husband and father of six, he is swimming in family dynamics. In his free time, he reads books on a wide range of topics, plays handball and guitar, and folds huge piles of laundry.
